The 1967 Film Bonnie and Clyde starred Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty.  Beatty who was also the producer of this film was given 40% of the gross instead of a fee.  That was because Warner Brothers had little faith that the film would do well.  It went on to gross over 50 million dollars.
