Gabe the military dog served in 210
combat patrols in Iraq beginning in 2006. His job was saving lives by
sniffing out weapons and munitions. He is also known for boosting
moral just by showing up to visit. Gabe retired from active duty in
2009, and is now adopted by his former handler Sgt. Charles Shuck who
was with him through all of his work in Iraq where he made at least
26 finds.
