Hats Off to Stage Performers, and Who is Going to Win America's Got Talent 2012?

Real American Treasure:

This week, We'd like to salute those folks brave enough to be live performers. Their creative spirits bring so much valued entertainment with real human connection, a different thing altogether from watching actors on screen.

And it is terrifying to perform live whether in front of a packed theater, or a sparsely populated coffee house! So hats off to you performers out there. Even here at the American Treasure Tour  it is like a live performance to be a tour guide. Fortunately for us, we have more props than a Hollywood movie lot to back us up!

Moving Day ...

Today at the American Treasure Tour we had a bit of a remodel in the Nickelodeon Room so that we could add more mechanical music for our visitors to hear.  Here we see Mark Chester in the background with Marlin Douglass and Joe Helferty in the foreground moving a "red key" Wurlitzer Nickelodeon.  The transformation is complete and we are ready for this week's tour groups.  Shout out to Jay Kreider for the new electrical work and thanks also to Seth Gammache who did all the technical work to make these instruments play at the touch control of our iPads.  There is always something new to see in our 100,000 square feet.
Tours by reservation.  Group size, minimum of fifteen people.

American Hero Quilts ~ a real American treasure!

Every Monday American Treasure Tour highlights an American Hero.  Today we are saluting Sue Nebeker of Washington State who heads up the American Hero Quilt web site and service organization.  Read her story here:  http://www.americanheroquilts.com/story.htm

In the face of her debilitating condition due to multiple sclerosis, Sue found a way to help wounded war soldiers.  Denying the opportunity to pity herself, she works hard to help others and as a result, many people have been blessed by her efforts.
